Winter Facility Closures

posted in: Trail News 0

The word from Prairie Spirit Trail manager Trent McCown or the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism:

With the drop in temperatures, the trail staff will start winterizing facilities this week. Water will be shut off at all rest areas, except Garnett, and the Richmond restroom will be closed down. We will post information as the other restrooms are closed down for the winter.

Fall and winter can offer some great riding weather, so there’s no need to stop riding. The trail remains open all winter, of course, and there are still commercial services along the way (Ottawa, Richmond, Garnett, Colony, Iola). Just be sure to bring plenty of water.
