Bike-Touring on the Prairie Spirit Trail

posted in: Trail News 0

Last week, I led a small group of riders on a short bike tour that included the Prairie Spirit Trail.

We started in Iola, rode the Prairie Spirit Trail to Ottawa, the Flint Hills Nature Trail to Council Grove, then paved and gravel roads through Emporia, and back to Iola: about 250 miles over four days. You can read my account of the trip here: Spirit Hills Tour 2018

Here are some photos I took along the way:

Riding the Prairie Spirit Trail in Allen County.
Pedaling through Richmond on the Prairie Spirit Trail.
Crossing a small bridge on the Prairie Spirit Trail, near Ottawa.
Riding the center bike lanes on the Prairie Spirit Trail in Ottawa.

The trail was in great shape throughout, and makes for an excellent bicycle touring route!
