Riverside Park is Iola’s oldest and largest park. It it located at the extreme southern end of the Prairie Spirit Trail (and the northern end of the Southwind Rail Trail).

Riverside Park serves as a defacto trailhead for the two trailes, and features WPA-era stone shelter houses, picnic tables, seasonal restrooms and water, free Wi-Fi, and plenty of parking.

In 2007, Iola was devastated by flooding from the nearby Neosho River, and Riverside Park was completely under water. After the flood, many park amenities had to be completely rebuilt or replaced, including the historic community building, swimming pool, and stadium. Be sure to check out the mural along the north side of the new community building, depicting rural scenes as part of the annual Allen County Fair.
